Desiring Production (2014) Salvaged broken auto glass, steel book ends, abandoned railroad track 150 ft x 4 ft 8 in x 4 ft Free City, Flint Public Art Project- Flint, Michigan
Desiring Production is temporary intervention of broken car windshields stretched across 150 ft of railroad tracks at the abandoned Chevy Commons in Flint, Michigan. Mirrors were propped up at the ends of the tracks to create an infinity-scape, harkening to the mass production lines of the late automobile plant. Throughout the two-day Free City event, the windshields weight beared down on themselves. The slouching and breaking glass caused a chain reaction illustrating the entropic nature of industry through movement.
